Modular is practical
We wanted to design a new type of a grabber that could perform a wide range of tasks. Until now many different grabbers were used for different tasks. If someone wanted to manipulate wood they would need a »wood« type grabber, if they wanted to lift stones, they would need a »stone« grabber type and so on. The new grabber had to be able to do all that and more.

Advantages of modular design
We wanted to extend the usability of one grabber type to many different tasks. Therefore we have designed one closed universal housing and different replaceable grapples. When the need for a new working operation would arise, a simple change of the grapples would do the job.

Closed housing for less maintenance
Closed housing also means less maintenance, since all the vulnerable hydraulic elements are stored in a confined steel housing.

Geometry design
A lot of effort has been put into the geometry development so the grabber would be built as compact as possible. Another challenge was to achieve maximum clamping force and low weight at the same time. We managed to meet all desired requirements and put them into one solution.
